Advanced Copper Armor Technology

For operators seeking maximum durability and biofouling resistance, NexCage Marine offers an optional electrochemically bonded copper armor layer applied over marine-grade stainless steel components.

 

Unlike conventional antifouling coatings that rely on paint layers gradually wearing away in seawater, our technology incorporates a metallic copper surface that becomes an integral part of the structure through a multi-stage electrochemical process. The result is a highly durable protective layer designed to enhance service life and reduce biological growth on critical components.

 

The copper layer is available as an optional upgrade and can be applied in thicknesses of 10–20 microns using high-purity copper. This approach provides long-term surface protection while maintaining the structural advantages of stainless steel construction.
